Flu vaccination rules: As part of the BHS, welfare of the horse is obviously paramount, however in the current climate the risk of a flu outbreak is at this time minimal. BRC are therefore comfortable to remove the requirement of a vaccination within ‘6 months and 21 days’ of a qualifier or championship. This will be with immediate effect, however we will continue to strongly recommend a 6 month vaccination when attending BRC qualifiers and championships along with maintaining good bio-security protocols. In order to compete in a BRC qualifier and/or championships the annual vaccinations (12 month) and initial course must be correct as per G7 of the Handbook. BRC reserve the right to amend these vaccination rules should another outbreak occur.
All horses must have a microchip – this will be checked at qualifiers and championships (any horse not microchipped will be eliminated).
The Foss Trophy is presented annually to the club in Area 11 which gains the most points in team competitions during the year. The club with the next highest points receives the Foss Runner-Up Trophy. These perpetual trophies are presented at the Area’s AGM in January. The Foss Trophy competition year runs from the start of the BRC winter season (October–March) to the end of the BRC summer season (April– September) finishing after the Lincoln National Championship or London & South East Championships or Quadrille, whichever is the latest.
