ENDURANCE GB
Area 11 Vice-Chairman and Farnham Riders Club member,
Caroline Moorey, recently flew the flag for Great Britain in India.
Caroline joined three team members from Endurance GB - Lesley-Ann
Parker, Pip Westwod and Bryony Dickins - to compete in an international
invitational endurance competition on the edge of the Great Thar
Desert. All four rode indigenous Marwari horses, which have unique
lyre shaped ears, loaned by Rawal Devendra Singh of Nawalgarh.
As well as the GB team, there were teams from France, Italy, Russia,
America, Sri Lanka and India. The Indian Army entered two teams
and took gold and silver, followed by the British quartet in bronze
position. The British were the only ones to get all four horses
home and had many compliments about how well they rode the race
from vets and officials.
Caroline, who is the Chair of Friends
of Marwari/Kathiawari Horse UK, went out to India early to choose
and prepare the horses and was delighted with their success.
